okay, i am on estonian side.
i am for it. for taking down the monument. i am glad they did. for estonians this monument symbolized the soviet union years! and these were horrible, why the hell would we want to have this monument in our country then? why would we want something that only brings painful memories back? for those russians it can mean whatever..but this is estonia. they can have this monument in russia if they want and go and party there.
and it was in a bad place anyway..
its not HIS fault that these russians damaged OUR capital city! its those russians fault , they should be ashamed. they have grown up in estonia and this is how they show their love for the country who gives them free education etc. if they don't like it here, then why the hell they don't go and live in Russia if they like it so much better, as they say!
i am sorry, but this is too crazy, these kids who riot in tallinn give no respect! they don't even know why they are doing this, they just want to destroy! they should grow up, and most of them are russians, so yeah..
i just feel sorry for the women polices who are in hospital with broken legs and arms, because some russians just thought its cool to throw them with stones and stuff..and all those shops that didnt do anything but are now empty and broken because some people thought its cool to steal and break windows ...for what???

I see you strong reaction for it - and I totaly understand you because of the street fights with riots and damage from marauders, but try to be tolerant. For example there are no origin russians in Estonia, they are russian speaking estonians - do you feel the difference?

And the most of them just were at home like you lfor example ast two days, so it is wrong to write "russians", the crimes do not have nationality.

Now you see, that we have marauders and political riots. So if we talk about marauders all is clear they are just crimes and they plase in prison, but if we talk about political riots it's not so simple. OK the place of monument at the military cemetery and majority of citizens(not all just 51%) are for this, but why police were not ready for this? Why it was so important to do it before Vday(in EU and Russia)? And why they start to use gas and watercanons to disperse the people near monument? You see how many questions...

My advice - try not simplify the problem in such mode like "estonians/russians" or "bad people/good people", it is a very complicated theme and you see the result of Ansip's hurry with place for "pare drunk tiblad with garmoshkas"

it IS russian-estonian thing, because most of these people WERE russians. it doesnt matter if they are estonian citizens, that only makes it worse, if they call themselves estonians and still act like that! REAL estonian wouldnt do it, and thats why estonians stayed at home!
if they speak russian as their mothertongue then they are russians.

i am glad they took down the monument. if the government would have said no to it, then i know estonians would have gone and destroyed this monument themselves! one man was already planning to bomb it!
